Gosh Makena was so excited for her first day of school. One thing she kept talking about was what she wanted for lunch... Pizza! I am not a big fan of pizza so we modified it a bit for a lunch.
The night before school I packed her lunch. I used whole grain crackers, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil from the garden. Let me tell you... it was a hit!!! She loved it!
After Makena went to sleep, the back to school fairy visited. This is her second year visiting and this year she brought a new lunch box, new clothes and three new books. She even left a magical note.
This little girl could't stand still for this picture. She was so excited to leave for school.
On our way to school! Going towards the sun.
This is Makenas first semester going to school full time. I was a little nervous... not to mention I was going to miss her soooo much throughout the day. I shamefully cried the ugly cried when I saw my baby go to school. *Sigh* It happens, right?
I was a little hesitant when Makena met her teacher. We know the other pre-K teacher and Makena really wanted to be in her class. It didn't work out that way, so when she met her new teacher and it wasn't who she expected I was a little afraid she would cry. But, she didn't! She was actually really excited and opened up right away. After we picked her up we asked her how she liked her teacher and she paused then said "She's perfect!"
Awe! We are now in week 4 and she is still perfect! It was a blessing.
After I dropped Makena off we went to Andrews first day of The Little Gym. He was having so much fun!
Speaking of school... right before we picked up Makena we stopped at Target. I found these great wipe - clean workbooks... in the dollar spot!!! Awesome!
How was your childs first day of school this year? Did any of you do the ugly cry too? What are your first day of school traditions?
I hope you all are having a great week!
Come back Monday for some fun ideas for a Disney Frozen party.
