Baby Boy Nursery. Nautical Theme
I am still in the process of finishing up my baby boys nautical theme nursery. I have quite a bit to do, but I wanted to share a few things with you all.
Before I knew the theme that I was going to use I had been scouring the internet looking for ideas when I ran across this picture.
I instantly fell in love with this croc and the navy blue stripes. Unfortunatly it was $100 from Pottery barn Kids and those of you with kids know that the crib quilt you never really use and hangs from the railing for a year. It is really just for decor. I couldn't justify paying that much for something that my son was never really going to use.
I asked an Etsy friend that owns her own quilt shop called Amherst Quilt Company to see if she can make something similar. She was such a sweet heart and made me this quilt for $50. I got it in the mail just the other day and it was so soft and more beautiful in real life than I had imagined.
So above the bed I have started 2 of the 3 paintings. I stuck with the nautical theme and painted two boats. I am planning on adding a middle canvas that will have a green croc and a blue capital "A". The green will bring the eyes above the crib and add a pop of green on this otherwise blue and white wall.
My next projects are to add a few more canvases to the opposite wall and to sew navy blue black out curtains with, of course, boat rope for tie backs. I hope to give a tutorial on this easy black out curtain project.
I hope you liked my tour of the nursery.
What personal touches did you add to your nursery?
