Happy Birthday Makena!
I have been waiting and planning her first party since the day she was born and here's how it turned out. I hope this gives you lots of ideas for your child's first birthday party too.
Here is the full dessert bar. The banner, welcome sign, labels, favor tags and cupcake toppers are all made and designed by me. You can go to my Etsy shop and look at more of my designs.
Red licorice and pink gumballs in apothecary jars. Red velvet cake balls and cake lollies.
Strawberry cupcakes with personalized cupcake toppers.
Welcome sign and homemade 3 tiered cake. The top layer of the cake is a cake made especially for babies. There is no sugar, salt, nuts or honey. The recipe for this special cake is in my recipe section of my site. The bottom two layers are chocolate cake. I covered the whole cake with fondant and added a fresh Gerber daisy.
With the remainder of baby cake batter I made mini baby cupcakes for the youngest guests.
I decided to do an easy party favor this year. I came up with medium size bottles of magic bubbles that I purchased from Walmart at $3 for 9 bottle. What a deal? I added personalized favor labels and placed them in Makena's Easter basket from last year. Decorated the basket with left over tulle from her tu-tu and Wah lah?
Quick photo shoot with the balloons we had. Makena puts up one finger to show that she is now one! We had been working on that trick for a week before her birthday ;-)
OK, this is a baby that wipes her own mouth after every bite during her meals. She hates being dirty, but you would never guess that.
We had such a wonderful time and we thank everyone who came even though it was a blustery, windy day!
